What is "Ma'atik Harim"?

1.

Rashi: He removes mountains, like Sedom was overturned.

2)

Why does it say "v'Lo Yada'u [Asher Hafacham b'Apo]"?

1.

Rashi: They did not know until they were overturned.

2.

Malbim: The physical world must have illnesses and shortcomings. If one person suffered, creation of the world in all was still good. Even if Hashem moves mountains, and thousands die in earthquakes, we cannot say that this was amidst anger. Perhaps it is due to nature of the creation!
