What is the significance of "Al ha'Dam Tochelu"?

1.

Rashi: This is said in astonishment. If you were commanded you do not fulfill! You eat delicacies via murder ? you kill Ashirim and take their money!

2.

Radak: I commanded you "Lo Sochelu Al ha'Dam" (Vayikra 19:26) for it was a rite of idolaters who slaughter to demons. They eat around the blood after they slaughtered to them. The continuation of the verse supports this ? "Lo Senachashu v'Lo Se'onenu."

3.

Malbim: The land was given to you on condition that you guard the Torah ? "va'Yiten Lahem Artzos Goyim?; Ba'avur Yishmeru Chukav" (Tehilim 105:44). You transgressed the three severe sins that are Metamei the land ? Arayos, murder and idolatry. "Al ha'Dam Tochelu v'Eineichem Tis'u El Giluleichem" is idolatry, "v'Dam Tishpochu" is murder; also refer to 33:26:1:4.

2)

What do we learn from "v'Eineichem Tis'u El Giluleichem"?

1.

Radak: You constantly turn to your idols to serve them and bow to them. I forbade you even to look at them ? "Al Tifnu El ha'Elilim" (Vayikra 19:4).

3)

Which blood do you spill?

1.

Radak: It is innocent blood.

4)

Why does it say "veha'Aretz Tirashu"?

1.

Radak: This is said in astonishment. How will you inherit the land and do all these actions, which are not the land's nature, like it says "Elohei Nechar ha'Aretz" (Devarim 31:16)?! The Kena'anim left the land due to you (so you would receive it), due to idolatry and spilling innocent blood and abominations ? "v'Lo Saki ha'Aretz Eschem b'Tama'achem Osah Ka'asher Ka'ah Es ha'Goy Asher Lifneichem" (Vayikra 18:28). How will you inherit the land, and you do the abominations that the people of these lands did before you?!
